Here at the NHD Youth Leadership Council, our purpose is to help promote National History Day, as well as support new participating students!
Meet our Leadership!
William Gao (President)
Hello! I'm William, and I'm a senior at Canyon Crest Academy. I've participated in NHD since 9th grade, competing in the grou and individual documentary categories. I started the Youth Leadership Council to help get more students interested in history!
Nice to meet everyone! I am a junior at Northwood High School, and I've been doing NHD for four years. I'm really excited to be part of the NHD Youth Leadership Council, as it's a chance to spread my love of history to the people around me, and I can't wait to see you in the next NHD competition :)

Hi, I am a senior at Diamond Bar High School with 5 years of NHD experience! I have a passion for history about the sciences and for teaching others. I joined NHDYLC to create webinars that inspire more NHD students and spread NHDCA to more counties and communities!

Hi! My name is Caroline, and I am a sophomore at Irvine High School. I've participated in NHD for the past three years in the exhibit and paper categories, and I especially appreciate that historical research encourages critical thinking. As part of the NHD Youth Leadership Council, I'm excited to inspire more students to discover the creativity and learning opportunities that National History Day offers!
